SUMMER IS HERE!

Schools out, the weather is warm, and vacations are around the corner….SUMMER IS HERE!!!

With summer comes barbecues, pool parties, days at the beach, and once again vacations…and along with these events comes FOOD, and lots of it!  And that’s okay!  We are all deserving of our favorite treats, but Moderation is the key! Therefore, when you’re at your next barbecue, pool party or the beach and you’re craving that hot dog, hamburger, or ice cream….go ahead and eat, just Be Aware of how much you’re taking in!

This is especially important for you moms who have a habit of eating what your kids do not finish, believe me I to have been there myself when my kids were younger, it just happens.  So be aware of that, remember you don’t have to finish what’s on their plate…its okay if some is thrown away. Also this time of year to take advantage of all the fresh, beautiful and delicious fruit & vegetables that are in season!  You can make endless treats using them. You can add the berries to your non-fat yogurt, make a fruit salad, blend them into a yummy smoothie, create gorgeous salads, or enjoy them just way they are! Another thing to take advantage of is the weather!!! The sun is finally out, so now is the time for all of us to get up, get out and get active! Remember summer is here so take advantage of all it has to offer!  Enjoy the recipe below :)

Have a wonderful day and weekend!

Be Blessed,

  1. No….Don’t say the “M” word. I’m scared of it. Eating in moderation is a skill I have yet to learn! Thanks for the tip. I’ll be mindful of it next time I eat. -Jacob
