Hey guys and gals, thats right, I cut down on my sugar intake, and gained five pounds! I think Im going backwards, when I started ThisisNOTadiet I wasnt trying to lose weight but now that Ive gained the five pounds, of course I want it off. I noticed since I cut down on the sugar, my appetite grew which I assume led me to gain the weight. Can anyone out there please explain to me how this happened! I was always able to eat what I wanted and didnt worry about my weight, but now that Im trying to eat healthier, now the weight is becoming a problem. And now Im having a hard time losing the weight which Ive never had that problem before. Please, please, please, if anyone out there has any tips for me I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks a bunch!

Here’s my little theory….
I think that you started to fill that appetite with wrong foods or maybe too much food. Only you know. I can relate for sure though. I completely cut out all forms of sugar (except fruit) about 9.5 months ago and I remember reaching for the wrong types of foods to replace it. I still have that habit today. In the course of those 9 months though I manged to lose about 15 pounds steadily. My advice is to watch the food intake and start introducing more fruits into your daily consumption. Not too much but enough to give you a natural energy from healthy sugars such as fruit. How’s Art doing?

Isn’t cutting down sugar intake can aid for loosing extra punds? I think I’ll just consume my before intake of chocalates and candy since I am getting the same result as you.. too sad.. I’ll be back hoping there will be someone who can give any idea why this thing happens..
They say that when they put obese women on a diet, they found those who lost the most weight were those who were told to include more healthy items in their diet. I have experienced the same phenomena, and I think it’s more important to eat what you want when you want it…if my sweet tooth wants sugar but I eat veggies instead, I am inclined to eat more. I found that I wanted sugary stuff less often when I was simply working on putting more fruit in my diet, rather than trying to cut out sugar. If I want some, I eat it, though.
yes it’s because sugar suppresses your appetite
