Men’s Health Magazine: Observations

Front Cover

Hey Guys,

Hope everyone had a restful weekend- I certainly did. My workout on Friday was extremely demanding; soreness is commonly a reminder of that. I know many of you know the feeling.

Quick Tip: Give Yourself the necessary sleep! Shoot for 8 hours if possible.

Short Story

I picked up a copy of the latest Men’s Health Magazine on Saturday evening while at Borders. The catch phrases normally draw my eye, which is the intended purpose. Here, take a look.

And another:

I occasionally browse the magazine shelves to keep up with the latest trends and what not. What did you notice?

“SEE RESULTS IN JUST 9 DAYS!” or SEE RESULTS IN 8 DAYS!

Oh, and the “Lose your gut” stamped right where you can see it. Now don’t get me wrong I’ve seen quick result during different moments in my life.

What guy doesn’t want to lose extra body fat? I know I do, but I don’t expect change to happen as soon as 7 to 8 days.

Purse a healthier lifestyle and along that path you’ll likely end up with changes you desire.

  • Set goals
  • Commit to the process
  • Develop a plan and work your plan
  • Avoid settling for “I want the right looks and hard abs mindset.”

Wanting those things is fine but if that was enough to motivate people, why doesn’t it motivate you?

Let’s purse more than surface level nonsense that main stream media continually feeds us.

The Plan

What is your plan?

What are your short-term goals?

What are your long-term goals?

Who is your accountability partner?

  1. Ah yes! We refer to this as the “Quick Fix!” Maybe we should start thinking of it as a daily quick fix over the span of years = ) I’ll start developing my short term and long term goals. I have them for weight loss goals but I currently don’t have clearly defined fitness goals. Thanks for the tip!

  2. I agree you cannot expect great changes in the very short term, but to motivate yourself you MUST see some change in a few days’ time.
Speaking of weight loss, if you start the path seriously you will have the first results in very few days. TESTED!

  3. Oh yeah, I agree. It’s pretty helpful and motivating if people see results within a few days.

But sometimes changes may not occur as soon as we like. Everyone is different, so for others, it could take a few days or even weeks longer. Thanks for visiting and sharing!

  4. This reminds me of my latest video blog…
