Back Home…

Hey guys!
I’m back from Korea and all was good, I had lots of work to do but the nights were fun. Now to the health observations from my trip! First of all Korean’s seem to walk a whole lot more than we do which is a step in the right direction (pun intended). All the ladies are covered up though, they hate the sun. Korean women love to have silky smooth white skin, hence, the sun is um…. Not so good. A funny little side note, I discovered that Korean women HATE having freckles, yeah freckles! Don’t we think that’s cute over here in the states? well at least I do. Our translator told us that freckles lead to depression over there. Sad. Anyways! Onto the food that I ate or pushed away.
First. This is a restaurant that I ate in that was next to the temple seen in the first picture.

Beautiful looking right? Food inside? not so beautiful. Wondering why? see next picture.

Pizza right, well almost, it was Octopus Pizza. Among other tasty little treats such as eel kabobs, and fish gut kimchi. hmmmmmmm. See next picture.

I don’t know what the pink stuff is but I remember that it wasn’t dessert. But don’t get me wrong the Korean BBQ at the other restaurants was great! marinated beef with lettuce wraps and dipping sauces! hmmm that really was good, and a lean beef stew that tasted like Yoshinoya. Also, concerning drinks in Korea, it seems as though all drinks are based off of tea of all different sorts, which was cool, we over here seem to have a bunch of unhealthy “barely teas”. Over there the tea seems fresher and more healthy. Even their junk food seemed healthier than our health food, I remember snacking on some pretty dang good rice cakes! All in all the Korean’s eat and drink alot more healthier than we do and get in more exercise than we do on a daily basis. We should all jump on that wagon. I trimmed down a bit and had a great time! A great place to visit! but, ain’t nothin like touchin down on U.S. soil.

  1. Thanks Aaron, for sharing the pictures from your trip as well as the interesting dishes you were introduced to. But, I know your right in the fact that walking here in the states is kept to a bare minimum, even to go to the store around the conner we get in our cars instead of walking. By the way, great pictures. I am glad you are back.

    Love,
    mom

  2. Thanks Mom, It’s great to be back!

  3. That’s very cool. I would’ve tried it all! How was the octo-pizza? Oh yeah and I love the part about our “Barely Teas!” So many people grab a SoBe thinking they’re doing something good for their health. Some of those drinks have more sugar than a can of Pepsi!
